To apply for a London Capital Credit Union loan, you must first join as a member.

You have to pay your first deposit of £20 minimum to your London Capital Credit Union savings account before any loan funds can be paid to you. You can borrow between £200 and £30,000 (£40,000 if you’re a homeowner).

I was advised it is easy to get credit.

I was advised it is easy to get credit. Their advertising and promotion appears to promote this idea, which is totally untrue. It is a lie.I had a crisis and was asked questions about my income including any benefits I receive. This section was very detailed. After everything they turned me down, even though I have never been in receipt of benefits in my life. The income and expenditure information I gave indicated that I was able to afford my monthly payments and yet they still, very illogically refused my application for a very vital loan to save me from losing my car. I now have no means of transport for my family life, possibly due to a very outdated and highly inaccurate algorithm they deploy. LCCU have been zero help over the past 15 years and close to zero interest and nothing in the way of investment or any other banking products. Extremely poor. Reviewed on: 8th June 2026

We’d like to clarify that we do not advertise credit as “easy to get.” As a credit union, we encourage responsible borrowing, saving, and financial well-being, and we sometimes have to decline applications where we cannot evidence that the borrowing is affordable and sustainable. I have never had issues with credit union.

I have never had issues with credit union. They have help me out in so many way not just with money but keeping my mind form stressing in times of trouble and putting me a ease. They are marvellous. There for people and not gain. Reviewed on: 8th June 2026
