Anyone who lives or works in Manchester, Tameside, Trafford, Rochdale, Stockport or High Peak and Bury can join Manchester Credit Union and apply for a loan.

Manchester Credit Union loans are available for up to £15,000. Members can clear the balance of a loan at any time and won’t be charged any early settlement fees.

My loan experience

When I got my loan, the agreed payments were managable. It is an easy process. Getting my child benefit paid directly to them means I dont have to worry about due dates or missed payments. Also putting a small amount in saving each payment date increases the money saved. It is that small an amount you dont even miss it. Reviewed on: 11th June 2025

Was very unsure about MCU before I applied. I was told about this by a friend. It’s a great way to save money and even withdraw when £150 is reached. Would highly recommend to family and friends in the future! In a way it’s giving me financial freedom to be able to save as much money as I can!
