There when I needed them

Credit union have helped me a lot I got a child benefit loan off them and I have been with them a few years now they have also let me take money out of my locked savings when I really needed to and I also have recommended them to a few people I know now instead of getting a high interest loan Reviewed on: 12th August 2021

Life savers!

Credit Union have been a massive help in giving me affordable loans that are manageable and allow me to save at the same time. I got myself into a bit of a financial pickle however CU have helped me regain control of my finances without the feeling of stress and anxiety that usually comes with money worries. Family loan.

I love having the benefit of being able to save whilst paying off my family loan. I also like the fact we can top up the family loan because the more I top it up, the more savings I build up. It's money I can't break into until the loan is paid off. It means I have some funds for the future which is a massive bonus. Reviewed on: 14th July 2021

Given me the chance I needed.

Manchester credit union. If it wasn’t for Manchester credit union I would still be in unaffordable debt today due to high APR. Manchester credit union gave me a chance they spoke to me about my situation and what they could do to help. From leaving home at 17years of age I got trapped in the cycle of payday loans when my partner fell ill and we had rent, bills etc to pay on one wage, I was offered no support due to me having a “stable carer” and “apparently” earning enough to support us. I wasn’t clued up around anything like this and fell into the easiest option, This then made me stuck in loads of little loans and a giant impact on my relationship and mental health. I decided I had to consolidate all my loans, however due to the effect the payday loans had on my credit score (even though I’ve worked since being 15years old for the same organisation climbing the ladder and have paid phone contracts, internet etc) I managed to consolidate my loan with the help of a friend as a guarantor HOWEVER the APR on this was 50% meaning the debt I was in doubled and I found myself in a worse Position than before. I moved back home and with many tears, sleepless nights and research I stumbled across Manchester credit union, I was sceptical at first I wondered what the catch. After a phone call with them I was put very much at ease and was offered advice and support around my situation. The amount I wanted at first was a lot and we need to build a trusting relationship, they offered me a small loan that took straight out of my wages through my employer (I was embarrassed by this at first but we are human) for a very low APR. Six months of paying this small loan which was for over 12months I got in touch again with Manchester credit union to request a bigger loan this time to pay off my overly priced APR loan, Manchester Credit Union was happy well they did more than help they took my details and the company’s I had the high APR loan through and dealt with it all for me obviously updating me with the process along they way, this was very quickly sorted and I had officially half my debt! BUT not only have I halved my debt the loan payments I now pay to Manchester credit union WELL they only take some out and put it in a savings account for you!!! So not only am I getting out of debt I’m saving at the same time. I feel so much relief and very grateful for been given an opportunity that no one else would give me! Amazing and helpful to a family

I applied for the family loan and I also save some money every month with credit union, I think there absolutely fantastic, There customer service skills are wonderful I've never once had a problem. Credit union got me back on track

Helpful, good communication!

Always helped me with any information regarding my loan saving and when I am eligible for a top up, the communication is 10/10, the time it takes to recieve an email and any documentation is very fast I dont even wait half an hour for a reply in regards to my enquiry, they are always helpful and I am grateful for their hard work, dedication and fairness in regards to loans.
