It's a long time since we had a mortgage so had forgotten procedures. This was different as it is a buy-to-let, which we had never done before. Although an enormous amount of information was required, we were able to do this eventually and our adviser was extremely helpful. Our only complaint would be that sometimes responses were rather slow, but this mostly during lockdown, so appreciate it has been difficult. Reviewed on: 9th July 2020

We were able to obtain a good self build mortgage and most things were very smooth. The rates for switching to an ordinary repayment mortgage were however several percentage points higher than other lenders, including building societies. Reviewed on: 7th July 2020

Helpful provider, but very high interest rates

With my situation(3 years credit history, gifted deposit from my wife who is on a spousal visa), Mansfield were the only provider that would give a mortgage. The process was simple and communication easy. Only area I could fault them on was the high interest rates that they charged. Reviewed on: 1st July 2020

Slow application process and not competitive rates

The application process originally was very slow and we had to resubmit information many times. We have moved as you couldn’t offer a competitive rate and we have saved over £320 per month by moving. Reviewed on: 29th April 2020
