Another ripped off

Avoid MCE at all costs, the underwriter going bust will cost many of us dearly in time/money. The MCE Broker still exisits but is no help whatsoever. Avoid like the plauge. Reviewed on: 12th January 2022

Ripped off !

I woke up to an E.mail to tell me my motorcycle insurance is getting cancelled on the 31st of January, despite having only taken it out the policy in September & paying in full for the 12 months cover. Totally impossible to contact ( @ the best of times ) MCE live messenger - no answer & trying to phone is a complete waste of time. I find it disgusting that they are still touting for new business online. I certainly won't use them again ! Reviewed on: 12th January 2022

After years of insurance and delaying with companies. I would rather weld my c@#k go a sinking ship than use MCE again. How they survive against other companies beggars belief. Reviewed on: 31st December 2021

Really disappointing service.

What an absolute nightmare three hours… What an absolute nightmare three hours of my life I just spent trying to get reinsured by MCE. I was passed from pillar to post and asked to make phone call after phone call and then go online to apply for insurance as a new customer even though I am a returning customer. The story goes on…. So I was initially told I wouldn’t be insured by MCE so I decided to get insurance with a different company. MCE then decided that they could in fact insure me, and sent me email after email over a one month period. Quoting me prices as low as £220 to insure me on my bike. They the called me again last Friday 10th of December and said they would insure me for £296. I said that I had already insured myself with another company as MCE had previously told me the could no longer insure me. They told me to cancel my insurance and come back to them. They also told me they would hold the price of £296. They didn’t!!! On Monday 13th I proceeded to cancel with my other insurance company and had to pay a cancellation fee of £30. I then called MCE and they said they could hold the initial quote of £296 and I now had to pay £433 as the work on a day to day market rate. They then said it might be cheaper if I filled out a completely new insurance quote on their website. This took the best part of half an hour and at the end of this process I still had to call MCE and give them a reference number. When I gave them the reference number they said it didn’t work and I had to do another quote with them on the phone I spent about 2 1/2 hours of my morning doing this at this stage. I then had to endure another 25 minute phone call for a quote and registration with them for insurance. When I finally got to the end of the application (3rd one of the day) they charged me £499 instead of the previously quoted £433. As I gave them my bank details they processed the payment and instead of £499 coming out of my bank account £519 came out of my bank account. I saw this as it came up on my telephone banking app as a notification on my phone, I then asked the person on the phone from MCE why I was charged an extra £20 and he said because I had added extra breakdown cover to my quote. I had added the breakdown cover before I even gave him my banking details, so I’m shocked that he added the £20 fee on top. All in all I felt like I was being offered something very different to what I actually came away with. I ended up paying almost £300 more than I had originally been quoted and the customer service was woeful at best Reviewed on: 14th December 2021

Scammers

I sold my bike so I needed to cancel my policy, I had well over 6 months left and my policy was over £1000 now the refund I received was £162 after their fees, how is that ok. When I complained I was met with a smug and rude customer services agent, please stay away from this company I can’t believe they can charge what they do for cancellations. (((((((((SCAMMERS SCAMMERS SCAMMERS STAY AWAY)))))))))))) Had my bike stolen told the insurance company they took £850 off my claim another £250 For collecting my bike £65 cancelling fee even though i didn't have my bike any more all then they kept taking the insurance out off my bank they kept trying and kept charging me £30 then i get an email saying i need to pay another £106 for cancellation stay well away from this company full off SHIT so end off my claim i had F%*k ALL they dont pay out they just keep your money F-=king SCAMMERS Reviewed on: 30th October 2021

SHOCKING SERVICE....

Little or no response from customer service, online chat. Obviously running a shoestring operation for max profit. Change of bike on policy cost me £70 plus a subsequent £75 cancellation fee with no refund on a paid for policy that was less than two months old. Thieves. Reviewed on: 6th October 2021

AVOID If you go with theses guys do not breakdown or have an accident out of office hours. You will not be assured. They are unsympathetic if you have the smallest discrepancy with regards to payment and are hyper aggressive on collecting AVOID Reviewed on: 30th September 2021

Scammers

Extremely unhappy their business model is a complete scam they charged me £51.83 just to change the address and I only moved less then a mile from my previous address the total policy was for £190 so that's more or less 25% for the total amount and when I asked to cancel the policy they can only give a refund of £24 as per whatever calculation that senior manager did over the phone with me I've been using them for 8 year never made any claims spoke to them a few times only for renewal etc but an existing customer of 8 years has been treated like this or probably they are the scammers from the start but I just didn't experience it in all those years. I wonder how come UK government have legally allowed them to have such fraudulent business policies. I will never buy from them again never again. Reviewed on: 7th September 2021
