Moving house in England is a stressful and unnecessarily complex process. We are downsizing and as we had found the perfect new home for us, we did not want to lose it. As the sale of our house was put back by a link in the chain messing up, we had to go forward with the purchase. This meant using our savings plus raising a mortgage. At our age the search for an interest only fixed cost mortgage with a short term and no early payback charges after the fixed 3 years was over was always going to be difficult. Newbury was a real find for us, they have made the process worry free and as simple as possible. The mortgage offered was excellent value and met all our rather unique requirements.
