It was dreadful.

It was dreadful. After a series of normal conversations with a person on the phone (which I was told were recorded for quality control) and what I thought seemed like a smooth process, I was told suddenly that my mortgage was refused. That call was not recorded and the employee (different from previous one) kept saying the decision was final. and I could not do anything about it. Well it was not: I complained and they 'changed their minds' after two agonising weeks for me. AWFUL!!!! Reviewed on: 12th October 2026

A very pleasant company who give excellent service

I can't imagine a mortgage company giving any better customer service and genuinely helpful advice than Newbury. Exceptional people. Reviewed on: 9th October 2026

Switching mortgage was seamless

Switching mortgage at the end of the agreement to a new product was smooth and seamless. Helpful advice, efficient administration and very competitive terms. Reviewed on: 2nd October 2026

Excellent from Start to Finish - Newbury BS Fantastic

As a whole of market Mortgage Adviser/IFA it was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. The team were able to confirm that my client would be suitable and the whole process from initial phone call, application, underwriting, required documentation was completed in a professional and easy manner. The NBS mortgage rate is competitive

The NBS mortgage rate is competitive, and the communication is prompt. They are sensitive to customer's need and reply to emails quickly. I do recommend them to anyone who is after remortgage. Reviewed on: 18th September 2026

Easy to access customer services and quick to respon...

Easy to access customer services and quick to respond to queries. There was some slight confusion over the wording in emails regarding a payment for a re-valuation to move from a self-build mortgage onto a standard mortgage product, however the rest of our experienec was great.
