Takes 2 weeks to open an account

Tried to open an account online. Seemed to go all right but after a few days I needed to provide extra ID. After this I had to wait over a week to get a verification code. Although I wanted to be able to manage the account on-line I now find if I want to use the local branch I need to ask for a passbook - more delays. I do wonder if it was worth it. New Savings Account assessment

Although we have 2 existing savings accounts with the Branch we were told we had to have an appointment to open a 3rd. The financial advisor (Laura) went through all our basic information even though you already had it obviously. We proceeded to open the new account with a cheque for £8000. The process seemed laborious for just opening a new account. There is no criticism of Laura who acted professionally at all times. Reviewed on: 23rd January 2023

Good help with teething problems

Great Customer Experience

I opened a Senior Saver account online. It was so simple to do with very clear and easy to follow instructions. I love it that they also make it easy for me to visit one of their local branches with a passbook as well if I want to, despite it being an online account. So many banks/building societies are leaving the high street, it's comforting to know that Newbury Building Society aren't following that trend and that their customers can still go in and chat face to face.
