Am I a victim of crime?

1
I had a vehicle policy (standard private vehicle, Fully comp Soc and Dom, recovery, courtesy car, foreign travel inc) with OneCall for a year, a year in which I had a continually poor level of service. Trying to get through the call system to speak with someone was the a rigmarole of option after option. I had to change my vehicle part-way and got stung with an admin charge plus a compulsory increase on my excess taking me from £100 to £400. To cancel would have been crippling, and the call taker represented them to a tee i.e. ruthless. I took my car abroad, and was the victim of the most minor hit and run. I did my best to find an independent repairer but all found it a bit awkward or quoted silly money. The policy was coming up to renewal time and I was conscious not to delay further so I called. The call-centre spent half an hour taking details. Then they referred me to One-Call (why?) whereupon I was interrogated for a further 30 mins. At the conclusion they said I would be referred to a third department who would call me back in a few days. After nearly a month I had no call so I complained. I was then suddenly contacted by their selected repairer (via a message service, no human being) saying it had been authorized. Their repairer told me the cost would be in the region of £600 (not the figures I'd been getting independently). A week went by and I was told the insurer had agreed the quote and to make arrangements. The repairer then mucked me about with multiple calls and text messages trying to book me in and provide a courtesy car. In the meantime I'd had my first renewal quote through the post...they'd dropped the compulsory excess they'd hit me with and the price was a moderate hike on the previous quote. I was already disatisfied and so contacted them and told them NOT to automatically renew. It took half an hour of negotiating before they confirmed that they'd agree to CANCEL the renewal! Then the final straw...days before lapse I got ANOTHER renewal quote through the post...the cost had DOUBLED and the excess had gone back to the extortionate level they'd hit me with. But that's not all...today I get a call from the repairer. OneCall have refused to honour the courtesy car as I had refused to renew the policy. No such clause was declared to me when I agreed the contract. I can't even see how that would be legal, and potentially it borders on Fraud by False Representation. I am obviously going to have to complain again, and it's a tiresome process with this company. I have told no untruths, have fulfilled my part of the contract. They might be 'cheap' but you get what you pay for. Bad service with a rip-off at every turn. Reviewed on: 15th November 2019

Charge £50 to cancel day after puchased

1
Took out insurance based on VFM. When recieved docs realised it was an Ageas policy and read reviews. Decided to cancel within cooling off period. They have charged me £50 to cancel!!! I have read further into their practices and find they charge huge amounts for trivial work. Do not touch. Which magazine give them the lowest rating. Reviewed on: 31st October 2019

Bad bad business

1
Took out insurance for a year and then rung to cancel the renewal 5 days beforehand. They debited my card anyway so I contacted them to refund the money and waited 3 weeks with still no refund.Contacted them again and was assured it would be in my account in 5-10 days and it's now 3 weeks later with no money. Taking money for a service that was cancelled and you have not provided is commonly known as FRAUD! Do not do business with them, they are useless, difficult to get hold off and do not do anything they say they will. Reviewed on: 29th October 2019

Staggeringly poor

1
I tried to buy insurance from these people but decided to cancel it after a problem with their website not recognising my details, tried 'live'chat to resolve...pointless so decided to cancel. With my purchase listed as a quote as it had not been processed this should have been straight forward. 40 minutes of runaround later (including hanging up on me) I discovered that my quote was now a policy as it had been processed whilst I was trying to cancel it and you've guessed it there would be a £49 charge for cancelling a policy less than 1 hour old. Avoid these robbing dogs at all costs. If they were the last insurance company on earth I rather risk prison for driving without insurance Reviewed on: 6th October 2019

Rude, arrogant & fee's for everything

1
Use ANY company other than these 4th party call centre cowboys. It's charges & fee's every step of the way, even to change a direct debit, which are not disclosed until AFTER the fact & they refuse to cancel a policy within the legal cooling off period without charging £50 (as per Consumer rights law) Absolute scam merchants . Reported to insurance regulators & FS ombudsman. Reviewed on: 5th September 2019

Cancelled my contract without informing me

1
They cancelled my policy without my agreement and took outrageous admin fees. Contacted customer service which is very poor at best. This seem to be a good revenue stream for your company. I feel someone has been into my wallet taken what they want and left. Please use a reputable company instead, OneCall are anything but!!!!!!!!! Reviewed on: 2nd September 2019

Avoid at all costs

Shame I cant give a zero!!! Despite having 16 years no claims and providing all proof, d licence, everything, I get a text message and email on a Sunday saying they are cancelling my insurance! Guess what, their office is closed on a Sunday! In 32 years of insuring vehicles, I have never come across such a useless cowboy outfit! I have an email from them saying thanks, youre insured, we have everything we need from you! Im inclined to get confused.com to have them deleted! Have asked them to call me first thing Monday. They had better call 9am on the dot! Avoid like the plague! And hey, One Call, I intend to copy and paste this onto every single review site to warn others! . Reviewed on: 4th August 2019
