Exhorbitant amendment charge

I called to amend the policy just before renewal so that on renewal the policy would apply a change in my wifes occupation in2 months time. I accepted a quote on teh basis that when I informed them of the change in October it would not charge me. When in October I informed them of the change they tried to charge me almost 50% of the original premium to record the change. I had eveidence they agreed to waive it and so ultimately they dropped the charge but they tried to argue they had no record of it. Reviewed on: 8th October 2025
