PayPal provide an essential service in modern times. Convenience - I don't have to enter card details every time I checkout online and security - my details are not disclosed to any 3rd party and are secure on their site. I’ve had PayPal credit for a number of years, and I trust the transparency of the service, ease of contacting customer service, as well as the security protecting my account.
