The Royal Bank of Scotland fixed rate cash ISA is available for one or two years and requires an opening balance of at least £1,000. The RBS variable rate cash ISA can be opened with just £1.

Product ok but stop closing branches

I use this lower interest paying product as I often need to withdraw from it to pay household renovation bills. The product is ok but trying to access a branch is like entering a warzone. My local branches are all closing and the second you do walk into a branch there is someone standing with an ipad determined to do anything they can to prevent you actually seeing someone at a counter for assistance. Private questions are no longer answered out of earshot but at desks anyone can stand beside. And the first thing they say is always "you can do this on the app" . No, I can't or I would not waste 3 hours travelling here to spend time in a 20 min queue. Reviewed on: 25th May 2024

Poor return

competitive rates

RBS Cash ISA is an easy to use service with competitive rates. Although it is debatable whether saving nowadays is worth it, putting away some money each month is always a wise idea. I have my current account with RBS and it is easy to transfer between accounts through mobile app. Reviewed on: 26th August 2015

Why do people bother saving?

I have an isa with rbs and it helps me put a bit away. But with the rates as low as they are, I wonder why we even bother saving. Reviewed on: 14th October 2014
