Opening a Two Year Fixed ISA

I went to my local branch of Saffron Building Society to open a Two Year Fixed Rate ISA. I didn’t have an appointment but, after being kindly offered a drink, I was seen within a few minutes by a Member Consultant. She was friendly, polite and professional and informative about the ISA. I opened 6 accs for my 3 grandchildren, one lump sum...

I opened 6 accs for my 3 grandchildren, one lump sum each and 1 regular saver each. I found the account opening process very slow and 'clunky' I waited over a week or more for the lunch sum account numbers so that I could transfer funds. The passbooks arrived seperately over about 3-4 weeks with one of the passbooks duplicated. I then discovered that passbooks were issued from different Branches! I did eventually manage to sort out your online app so that I can view the accs, which for me was progress. Reviewed on: 26th April 2024

Regular Saver ISA - thank you!

I wanted to open a Regular Saver ISA and Saffron’s recent offering suited me perfectly, being unable to get to a branch. Offerings from some competitors are not available to those of us who cannot get to a branch and Saffron should be praised for being inclusive in this way. The product appeared on the website on the first day of the new tax year, which being a Saturday was unexpected, but impressive. I filled in the application form that day and had someone pop it into the post box on the Monday, and the account appeared in the app on the Thursday. Very impressive service as it is naturally expected that ISA Managers are busier at this time of year. Received my passbook (a surprise, as this wasn’t mentioned on the website to my knowledge) on the Saturday, so I had everything within a week of the tax year starting. Have already recommended to another person but sadly couldn’t do a second as not being able to pay in by debit card is a dealbreaker for them as they do not want online banking for their current account.
