Customer friendly and informative.

I have found Saffron Building Society to be extremely customer friendly. Whenever I’ve had occasions to contact them, they confirm what my reason for calling is and so verify that they know what my query/question is which is reassuring. I’ve always been given an answer with an explanation and then asked if my question has been addressed and if I’d like to ask anything else. That’s what l call first class customer service. SBS is a socially minded organisation

Fair return but web site can be cumbersome

Savings products provide a fair return but the web site sign-up process is cumbersome, and the guidance on choosing a password/phrase is confusing. I chose a long phrase from which I must choose numbered characters to log on - this is not convenient. Reviewed on: 27th January 2026

Customer of Saffron for several years.

Have been a customer of Saffron for several years. Last year I recommended them to a family member which i unusual for me. I only do this on rare occasions when I am very confident of a product and service. Reviewed on: 27th January 2026

Best of both worlds, and local too.

It is very refreshing to find in NE Essex and East Anglia there is still a local, mutual, building society with offices nearby. Combined with online facilities for most types of savings account this is an excellent mix of traditional and modern service. Reviewed on: 27th January 2026
