All policies have an uninsured driver promise protecting your no claims discount and no excess to pay if you're hit by an uninsured driver. Depending on the policy, there are extras you can add on to the policy to provide more protection.

Card renewal - bad practice

2 male operatives didn't give the correct information and the female operative tried her best but her boss has not deemed my complaint important enough to get back to me. I received a letter from Saga stating my credit card had expired and to ring them with new details. On giving the details of my card, immediate payment for my car insurance was taken from my bank account.At no time was I told this would happen and no one would cancel the payment which was not due for 3 another 3weeks. I was told to cancel it through my bank .They told me the payment was ",pending "so it couldn't be done and to go back to Saga. This practice should be made clear in their letter or by the operative before taking my card details. It has caused me financial embarrassment and disappointment as well 2hrs on the phone trying to deal with this..I will not be renewing my insurance with Saga next year for sure Reviewed on: 25th April 2023

Maladministration & Fraudulent Activity by Saga

Accident of 4 March 24 where unattended van slipped off h/brake & ran into my occupied car. All agreed I was victim. 13 May receive invite where Acromas replaced LivVic as underwriter. Reported I hit parked car or immobile vehicle & price increased from 5 year norm of £616 to £1432. 2 complaints to Saga on 14 & 16 noting false allegation & requesting re-appraisal of price & reword claim to Hit in rear while parked. Informed on 17th both complaints sent for investigation. 27th checked wIth Saga if details had been changed prior to taking out insuring with Liv Vic. Saga hadn't. Asked agent to change it. Wouldn't. Conversation continued. He proposed taking out a policy with Saga. Not interested. Pestered so said if he wanted to he could send me the details. Cut short call & arranged insurance through Liv Vic. Informed them of my call withSaga & agent sceptical increased my expected premium by 50%. Viewed /Saga's docs later & description read Hit in rear by 3rd party. Challenged Saga via Ombudsman (FOS), but that's another story. Note 90% of those recently who have used FOS consider them to be corrupt, deceitful & use their opinion rather than the factual evidence the complainant has provider. I have the emails that the agent sent me but has of today Saga still report me as having caused the collision. Bizaar but true. Reviewed on: 16th September 2025
