OUT OF SIGHT OUT OF MIND

As a student, saving money can be very challenging, as well as being all too tempting to spend if its sat in your usual current account. The thought of moving back home after i graduate makes me want to cry! so i wanted to place my saving into something that will benefit me after my studies! Santander were really helpful, and i now have a current account with them with all my savings that places £200 a month into my Help To Buy ISA with them - i cut my card up on the current account so i know all that money will be invested into my future, and at the time, it had the highest interest. I will be changing come April to maximise my interest on my savings! These life ISA's are tempting me now.... Reviewed on: 31st March 2017

Free money from the Government

Myself and my husband each put £200 per month of our wage into Santander Help to Buy ISA (a total of £400). We get £50 per month from the Government towards our new home. It only applies to first time buyers but we are purchasing this month and we have a bonus of £1800 from the government. The interest rate is 2% if you are a Santander customer.
