After having banked with NatWest for 20+ years as a Premium Black account holder I tried to open an account. What a fiasco! I used Starling - if they can do it via my smart phone why couldn’t the lumbering Nat West. I even have a Euro account which I use for holidays etc especially when allowed to travel. NatWest - we want simplicity via our smart phones - not your lumbering approach with paper forms !! Reviewed on: 16th March 2021

Efficient, available, professional

I used to recommend Starling but their recent banning of buying cryptocurrencies has turned me off

I used to love Starling but since they banned us from spending our own money on cryptocurrencies I have found another bank. My review changed from high to low. It was temporary and I think it is allowed again but the fact they did it is enough for me to leave. They disguised this as "customer protection". They say this because they believe that investing in cryptocurrencies is high risk and involves a lot of scams. This is a terrible excuse, as they are fine with people spending their money on gambling sites, betting sites, gaming sites.. but apparently, decentralised finance is a step too far for them? Hmm, I wonder why banks would ban disruptive tech that gives people complete control over their own finances. Reviewed on: 16th March 2021
