Always hated how impersonal and unavailable big banks were. Even tried a couple of the start ups before settling on Starling. Very responsive IM, email and phone calls plus great service. Go out of their way to help. Encourage saving with "Spaces" feature - something I struggled with - by allowing you to set specific goals for specific reasons. Prefer UX to Monzo and don't have to have a "Hot Coral" card the same as everyone else in East London Reviewed on: 6th November 2018

Best Fintech current account I've tried so far

Starling's current account is not perfect but it's the best FinTech has yet to offer in my opinion. Great user experience and customer services - steady innovation, not hopping trends/hype too much like the competitors. UI is really great, very simplistic design and not too wordy, in comparison, for me Monzo just have too much going on on their interface... Reviewed on: 6th November 2018

Superb bank, incredibly easy to join, smart team.

Despite being super techy, I'd always been a little uncomfortable with the idea of a mobile-only bank. However, after reading a few reviews, Twitter threads, and seeing some screenshots of the Starling Bank app, I was tempted to give it a go. Within about a day of using Starling I'd already decided to make it my primary account, and switched to it via the Current Account Switch Service (which I think Starling were one of the first mobile banks to support!) I haven't looked back since. Within a week of using it, I'd also moved my Business account to Starling. The app is super easy and mostly intuitive to use, and the customer service has always been incredibly human, speedy and responsive when I've needed them. It was even easy enough to cash a cheque when I got the odd one, and I appreciate their transparency on their blog about what features they're missing or building. Compared to the difficulty getting any kind of support from TSB or Halifax, Starling have been a real breath of fresh air, and I wish them all the best, and I can't recommend them enough. Brilliant bank!

I opened my account in less than 5 minutes I uploaded my passport as ID and a short video to confirm my ID and my account was open. I really like the app it’s brilliant when I pay for something it comes straight out no waiting and bing a notification too. The customer service had been great too. I’d really recommend starling much better than my old bank I’m currently switching now to them as I feel they are more ahead of times. Reviewed on: 6th November 2018
