Totally life changing !!

Between 2011 & 2016 i ran up some £30+ of debt without really noticing, Was introduced to step change by a friend, I contacted them & discussed my situation, I basically handed all my debt issues over to them & they took care of “everything” on my behalf, Within a few weeks i was paying a comfortable monthly amount of my debts, Since starting with step chance in jan 16 iv never missed & payment & now my debts are less than £15k, These people are angels & they should be recognised for their work they do for people, Put it this way .... Really helpful and understanding

I was at possibly the lowest point of my life in mountains of debt and step change have got me right back on track. 3 years into my DMP now and can see light at the end of the tunnel again. The experience of working with step change has been amazing and they are all so helpful and really help get you thinking clearly at a time when you are mentally in knots. Step Change saved me.

My wife built up debts on my credit cards without my knowledge. We separated last year, she then sent my credit card debts to me by post. I learnt from BCP Library about Step Change, they helped me to get my finances back on track.. I can not thank them enough. Reviewed on: 11th July 2020

Superb Company

I was in a very bad situation with my finances and although I’m still a long way from being debt free their assurances and attitude helped my to see a way forward and to free myself from the psychological debt I had become trapped in. Reviewed on: 11th July 2020

From a bad place, with their help I broke the chains of debt

I had gotten into a bad position with £15k of debt, and despite a decent wage to service my debts and survive, I was still in a cycle of using payday loans to try and make it through the month. Round and round I was going, desperate. I tried to get a loan to consolidate my debts, but by that point, my credit rating had tanked. I was approached by a company about a debt management plan, they wanted money for the service though, and with the added fees it was going to take a while to break free of my chains. I was fortunate, I looked around, thought maybe I could find someone with lower fees, and ideally a better reputation. Came across StepChange, they were a charity with a fantastic reputation, and they had no fees. I went through the process, laid bare all I owed, and all I earned. And lo and behold, I had a plan to be debt free in four years, I had support, I had clear steps to take to be able to talk with my creditors, and creditors really respected them and honoured our agreements. I wasn't chased and harrassed to try and get more money off me, thanks to StepChange we all stuck to the plan. I had the satisfaction of paying back what I owed, they got satisfaction of getting back the money they had invested in me. I can't imagine what would have happened if I'd carried those debts into the world we have today, but thanks to StepChange, I didn't have to. Stopped the anxiety
