Retaking control

You've come to the end of your tether, swamped by red letters and final notices. So phone StepChange - one of the best half hours of your life. They sort out what you spend on what, what you owe, what you can afford to pay back after allowances are made for the amount you need to live on. Then they sort out the repayments (through them) and companies listen to them whereas they wouldn't listen to you, because they have standing. And the best bit (apart from the relief of finally doing something positive about things) is that they're a charity and won't charge you a penny. Reviewed on: 23rd April 2017

Stepchange helped me feel in control. My debt was causing me so much stress, they never judged me and set up an easy plan for me to follow. Calling each time and getting someone different was sometimes a hurdle but generally everyone was very helpful. I am now on my way to being debt free, which is the best feeling ever.
