Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Brilliant and sympathetic help and advice

I had got myself into a very bad situation through my own stupidity. I was advised to contact Step Change and from day one they have been excellent in helping me to sort out my situation. The operators I have spoken to have all listened with a sympathetic ear and I have now got things under control. I always know that should I encounter any more difficulties, they are at the end of a phone. I am very grateful for the help I have received and I hope this will be recognised in the awards. Stepchange has helped us turn our lives around

Before my family sought help, we were struggling to keep our finances in check. We were owing to a number of creditors and couldn't see a way to pay them each month. From the start, the staff at stepchange have been exceptional and so understanding. Especially during the recent covid period.
