Support and empathy tailored to me

Not knowing which way to turn, they made it so easy, with no judgment. I felt like a valued member of society and not someone who had been blamed For making bad decisions. I feel empowered and free. I can see my debt coming down which is empowering. I’ve kept to my side of the contract by not taking out any further credit. The Releif Of My Stress

Before Step Change took over my DMP I was being charged £40 a month by a company that did no more than forward my payments to my creditors. Step Change offers me counselling and advice to help me deal with my debt in an achievable manner. Reviewed on: 8th July 2020

Changed my life

My husband and I managed to get ourselves into severe debt. We were living on credit cards and the available balance was almost gone. We were both stressed, I wasn’t sleeping, he was constantly snapping and I became very depressed. StepChange was our saviour. Two things stick in my mind. The first was being told to go out and do a decent food shop and to forget the bills as they had everything in hand. The second was reassurance we could call them as many times as we liked - whether it was because we were worried about a letter we’d received or if our circumstances ever changed - we were not to worry, they had our back.
