Retaking control

You've come to the end of your tether, swamped by red letters and final notices. So phone StepChange - one of the best half hours of your life. They sort out what you spend on what, what you owe, what you can afford to pay back after allowances are made for the amount you need to live on. Then they sort out the repayments (through them) and companies listen to them whereas they wouldn't listen to you, because they have standing. And the best bit (apart from the relief of finally doing something positive about things) is that they're a charity and won't charge you a penny. Reviewed on: 23rd April 2017

Less stress and more reassurance

I have a DMP arranged through Stepchange. It was a relief to make a single payment towards all my debts. The downside is it feels like it will be a long time before these are paid off and I still get letters from creditors which put me in to panic mode. Fantastic people. They only want to help. No judgement, no awkward questions. Just be 100% honest with them and they will be 100% honest with you.
