Retaking control

You've come to the end of your tether, swamped by red letters and final notices. So phone StepChange - one of the best half hours of your life. They sort out what you spend on what, what you owe, what you can afford to pay back after allowances are made for the amount you need to live on. Then they sort out the repayments (through them) and companies listen to them whereas they wouldn't listen to you, because they have standing. And the best bit (apart from the relief of finally doing something positive about things) is that they're a charity and won't charge you a penny. Reviewed on: 23rd April 2017

Such a relief!

A very good experience. After going through my income and outgoings, stepchange contacted all my creditors to offer affordable monthly payments. I just pay one sum of money to stepchange now, and this is then forwarded to the companies I owe money to. Reviewed on: 27th May 2026

My experience with Step Change

A service you cannot fault

Unfortunately to me, it's my second time with StepChange and I can truly say that the process, advise/guidance and overall experience is great and effortless. Financial difficulties isn't easy to deal with and at times can feel very overwhelming, the staff at StepChange helps to put your mind and situation at ease with finding the right solution and ways to manage and get back on top of things. Help and guidance without judgement

To accept that you need guidance, support, and help is a challenge. You may well feel embarrassed too. Don't be. It's such a relief to have someone there to go through the process with you and help take the pressure off. The initial part, going through the review of your position is daunting, but so much easier when someone talks you through it. It brings a sense of relief with it and gives you an understanding of what becomes possible from what feels like an impossible and potentially threatening feeling. The most important part?
