Great, helpfully service

Really helpfull and knowledgeable people. The advisor gave me advise and guided me through the whole process to set up my debt management plan. Now, I don't wake up during the night worrying because I know my financial situation getting and my debt is reducing. Reviewed on: 7th June 2025

Help when most needed

When I found myself with a mountain of debt with no where to turn, Stepchange provided me much needed help and support. Helping us get back in control

Never had a credit card, then daughter had 18th and we wanted to spoil her, just one spend then we'll pay it off. Then the car died, then we needed clothes for a funeral, then my daughters wedding, by the time we knew it we were £15,000 in debt. We couldn't repay it back fast enough and were not clearing the debt just the interest. I started to panic, cut out tv, Internet, phones. Cut right back on food, gas, electric. But still we were not making ends meet. I plucked up the courage and rang step change. I was scared and ashamed and then they picked up the phone, a friendly voice answered and let me know that I wasn't bad or stupid and that lots of people easily fall into this kind of debt. I was reassured that they could help me with a payment plan, and I could be debt free in 6 years. I have 2 years left and I am happy.
