We were at our wits end after I had to give up and looked after my sick wife, empty promises of help were not there and finacies started to spin out of control, we discovered step change and they were so helpful and made us feel at ease not embarrassed about our situation, everything was consolidated into monthly payments which removed so much pressure... Very helpful and understanding at a difficult time.

Very helpful and understanding at a difficult time. I did find it hard at first to do it online. byt there was very professional advice from your staff and reassurance every time I spoke to a member of your team. My account was worked out that I could afford the repayments offered to me. This gave me peace of mind in these challenging times that I was facing with debt incurred over a period of a few years. I honestly couldn’t see an end to paying the debt off. The advice and help I received was such a relief as having only my pension as my income. Thank you for listening and not judging me. I found it a very hard time financially and I was ashamed of getting into this position. Your staff assured me it would be resolved with the best outcome to get my money back on track and live within my limitations. I cannot thank you enough to be able to pay a manageable amount each month and stop the worry of arrears letters being sent to me. Your company are professional and caring making sure they treat each individual with care and understanding and resolve the problem with compassion and honesty. Reviewed on: 1st June 2026

Best advice i ever got!

I was was in over £15k worth of debt due to maxing my credot cards and a personal loan, once o reached out to step change i got the best advice and they helped me freeze the late payment and charges so i could start paying my balance . Such a wonderful relief from all the worry..

Stepchange took the pressure and worry from us as we sorted finances and debt after I was made redundant during covid. I really was so worried and didnt know where to start and they were so helpful from start to finish,it was almost too good to be true and i cannot believe that i will make a final paument sin November. My debts got out of control.

My debts got out of control after having to use credit cards for everyday spending. My husband was made redundant a month after having a baby, not something we ever imagined would happen. I was paying the minimum but spending more. £35k later it got to a point where I could no longer afford the monthly payments and I started to panic. Called step change and they were able to advise me how to approach my debts, made contact with my lenders and a debt management plan was put in place. A monthly payment I can afford along with my normal outgoings. I can now sit down in the evening and not worry I’m going further into debt and provide for my family. Reviewed on: 1st June 2026
