Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Help given, pressure off!

From my first call to StepChange, I felt like I finally had someone backing me, there when I had questions, and no question was ever a daft question. I had a poorly husband when I first talked to them, and therefore I was the one dealing with it all, but they supported me fully, both with financial advice, and social/home issues. Understanding, helpful, caring & approchable

I've been with step change nearly 6 years and very near to coming to the end and soon will be debt free. If it wasn't for step change I don't know what I would've done. They are so helpful and understanding and never once judged me. I would totally recommend step change to whoever is in money trouble, don't feel ashamed your not on your own and step change can help you.
