Retaking control

You've come to the end of your tether, swamped by red letters and final notices. So phone StepChange - one of the best half hours of your life. They sort out what you spend on what, what you owe, what you can afford to pay back after allowances are made for the amount you need to live on. Then they sort out the repayments (through them) and companies listen to them whereas they wouldn't listen to you, because they have standing. And the best bit (apart from the relief of finally doing something positive about things) is that they're a charity and won't charge you a penny. Reviewed on: 23rd April 2017

Stepchange have saved my life

I got myself into a world of debt which was completely unmanageable. My mental health was on the floor and I could see no way out. I found the courage to reach out to Stepchange 2ho were sympathetic from the start and sorted my finances with all of my creditors. Having always lived with Debt, it became unmanageable after a relationship break down, Stepchange relieved that pressure on me, arranging all repayments with lenders and helping me structure my budget appropriately. When my circumstances changed, it was seamless to speak with Stepchange and change my repayments to suit my new budget.
