Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Great service

Both myself and my wife could not have survived the past three years without the help of StepChange.

I became mentally unwell and was unable to work as a teacher. Also my wife became critically ill and financially we could not cope with bills. StepChange helped us both to manage our outgoings into one monthly bill which would be affordable. This has allowed both of us to regain our health and within a few years we will at last be debt free. Reviewed on: 8th July 2020
