Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Very helpful and friendly

Absolute God Send

I was a post man who during the privatisation was put on reduces hours. When my children came along we were in such a bad state financially! I have now gone to being a debt advisor with Stepchange and have completely changed my life for the better! Reviewed on: 8th July 2020

I can finally sleep!

After falling into debt through being a single parent of an autistic child, although I work full-time there is never enough to make ends meet and I got into the cycle of living off credit credits and continually consolidating. At one point I was working 40 hours a month overtime just to keep up and reached breaking point. Step Change helped me take control and sleep again not to mention spend quality time with my child. Everything was explained so clearly and it was easy to set up my DMP. They have been at the end of the phone or email for every wobble and query I have had. Step Change are amazing!
