Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Took away the pressure!

Without Step Change I don't know where I would be right now. Thank you Step Change for taking away the worry, helping me to work out my budget and know exactly where I am. StepChange saved me

I was scared to deal with my debts. I was ashamed of the mess I had gotten myself into. I was able to get support at every stage to set up a Debt Management Plan and they used their trustworthy reputation to convince my creditors this was the way to go. Stepchange has always given me complete support to my financial hardship

I had an operation and was off work for a few months. I owed a large amount of money to credit cards and could not afford the monthly payment because I was only on SSP. I was recommended by a friend to seek help from Stepchange. After doing so I felt very relieved, as all the pressure, worry and anxiety had been taken away. Weight off my shoulders

All my money every month was going on paying back my credit cards, I had no job and didn’t know what to do. Looking through the internet I came across Step Change & contacted them. After completing a budget plan with their help everything suddenly felt easier & clearer. I still had the debt but now I had a way forward.
