Retaking control

You've come to the end of your tether, swamped by red letters and final notices. So phone StepChange - one of the best half hours of your life. They sort out what you spend on what, what you owe, what you can afford to pay back after allowances are made for the amount you need to live on. Then they sort out the repayments (through them) and companies listen to them whereas they wouldn't listen to you, because they have standing. And the best bit (apart from the relief of finally doing something positive about things) is that they're a charity and won't charge you a penny. Reviewed on: 23rd April 2017

A great way to deal with challenging circumstances when you’re struggling especially when your mental health or stability is at risk. The help they provide is all encompassing yet still keeping you 100% in control of your situation. Advice is wide ranging and available in various levels and formats. Absolute game changer

Absolutely changed my life. I was struggling with debt, stressing out all the time, dreading the post coming and the phone ringing. Contacted StepChange, got a plan in place and they took over for me, contacted all my creditors and dealt with it all. Now when a letter comes I know it’s all in hand and I don’t need to worry about it. I have a clear end date of when I will be debt free.
