It was absolutely fantastic help from start to finish.

It was absolutely fantastic help from start to finish. It took 8 days in total. I'm sitting here now a lot happier than I was 3 weeks ago. They put me forward (against their recommendation) for a DRO, which was passed 2 weeks ago, and because I have their backing, I have been able to liaise with my creditors a lot easier, and they have actually helped me due to my underlying health issues. Thank you to them all from Stepchange and also Money Wellness (the people who organised my finances and submitted my DRO application) From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU. Escaping debt through financial coercion

In 2024, I got out of a financial coercive relationship. My partner had goaded me into gettting loans and shopping on a popular online catalogue. I was in a huge amount of debt and reached out to StepChange. They gave me the advice I needed and now I'm on a debt management plan and it has taken all of the worry off my shoulders. I now have better control of my finances and can even afford the odd treat for myself. I can't recommend them enough! Reviewed on: 9th May 2026

Supportive and Understanding During a Difficult Time

I was really anxious about dealing with my debts, but StepChange made the whole process much easier than I expected. They’ve been supportive, respectful and understanding throughout, especially when my income changed recently. Having a manageable plan in place has made a huge difference to my stress levels and helped me feel back in control of my finances again.
