Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Excellent support

I went into debt after a company I worked for did not pay me and I struggled. I am now on track & due to be debt free in October. If it wasn’t for Step Change I would still be struggling to date. They are helpful and really took the pressure off. If you want help in paying your debt quicker & more affordable then Stepchange can make that possible :) Reviewed on: 29th May 2026

A great service.

Easy to contact in the first instance, and easy to work with in setting up the solution. Of particular note, and to be really recommended is the ongoing service. My plan has taken a few years; budget changes, reviews, potential problems have been resolved quickly, and with the online tools, I can manage my account year on year without having to call the contact centre.
