Retaking control

You've come to the end of your tether, swamped by red letters and final notices. So phone StepChange - one of the best half hours of your life. They sort out what you spend on what, what you owe, what you can afford to pay back after allowances are made for the amount you need to live on. Then they sort out the repayments (through them) and companies listen to them whereas they wouldn't listen to you, because they have standing. And the best bit (apart from the relief of finally doing something positive about things) is that they're a charity and won't charge you a penny. Reviewed on: 23rd April 2017

Great support

The application process is simple and the support they give makes a huge difference to take off financial pressure during difficult times. Creditors respond really well to them as well and accept payment plan without pushing you in more issues. Reviewed on: 28th May 2026

Step Change saved me

I was at a very low point, I gad contacted companies that helped with debt management but wanted to charge high fees. A friend of mine had heard about Step Change from a radio advert and told me about them. I feel like Step Change saved my life. I was at an extremely low point and felt I had very little options.
