Everyone that I spoke to was so kind. It helped me gain perspective quickly and release the shame that I had surrounding my debt. The advice that I received took into account my needs at no point did I feel pressurised into making a decision. When i did decide that setting up a DMP was the right solution for me. Stepchange was recommended to me by a family member. My Debt was very overwhelming, and my wages just weren’t stretching far enough. I was a little worried about taking this step,i believed I got myself into the debt and I had to get myself out of it. i felt I was cheating by going down this route, but Im so glad I applied to stepchange. Such a relief

I contacted Stepchange after really struggling with debts due to a relationship breakdown. It was such a relief to speak to someone and admit I was struggling. They were so kind, didn't judge and helped me work out what I could afford to pay each month. I make one payment a month to Stepchange and they split it between my debts.
