No hassle no judgment help

Step change help us sort ourselves out without any fuss or judgement. They explained all the details and options and helped us follow through our plan. Also explained how to desk with the creditors. Fantastic service showing us "light at the end of the tunnel ". Reviewed on: 9th June 2021

Best decision i have ever made.

I honestly can’t thank StepChange Debt Charity enough for the support they’ve given me during one of the most stressful times in my life. From the very first contact, I was treated with kindness, respect, and absolutely no judgement. Talking about debt can feel overwhelming and embarrassing, but they immediately put me at ease and made everything feel manageable. They took the time to clearly explain all my options and helped me set up a plan that actually worked for my situation. Knowing I had a structured, realistic way forward lifted a huge weight off my shoulders. Their ongoing support and regular reviews have helped me stay on track and feel in control again. What really stood out was how compassionate and understanding the advisors are – you genuinely feel like they care about helping you, not just processing a case. Thanks to StepChange, I’ve gone from feeling completely stuck and anxious to feeling hopeful and confident about my financial future. I would definitely recommend StepChange.

The advisors were very helpful and understanding of my situation, and talked me through every step from start to finish. The application process was pretty simple, much easier and more painless than I had been expecting and I had an offer in a matter of a couple of weeks. If I need to make tweaks to my budget I can do so easily, and I am able to make extra payments as and when I can. Getting a DMP will affect your credit rating for about 6 years and potentially your ability to get credit in the future, but it beats insolvency and bankruptcy. The only real drawback I have found is that they aim to get back to you within a week when you reach out by email, but you can find phone numbers instead if it's urgent. If you're having issues with debt, I would definitely recommend StepChange. I just wish I'd done it sooner. Reviewed on: 6th May 2026

Brilliant, understanding and there for you.

From the initial call to the maintenance of my plan, StepChange are outstanding. Kind, calm and understanding - just what you need when you're trying to sort yourself out and may feel really embarrassed. The service not costing is an added bonus as some companies charge a fee to help you which takes money from what you can afford therefore lengthening the plan. It's vital to keep the plan up to date and if you're struggling then be truthful. The hassle from creditors stopped, the relief and safety knowing that everything is taken care of and done properly.
