Retaking control

You've come to the end of your tether, swamped by red letters and final notices. So phone StepChange - one of the best half hours of your life. They sort out what you spend on what, what you owe, what you can afford to pay back after allowances are made for the amount you need to live on. Then they sort out the repayments (through them) and companies listen to them whereas they wouldn't listen to you, because they have standing. And the best bit (apart from the relief of finally doing something positive about things) is that they're a charity and won't charge you a penny. Reviewed on: 23rd April 2017

The staff at StepChange are so busy and not always available right away. But when they come back or you can get through they are empathetic, honest and friendly. I have multiple debts and couldn't make heads or tails of it. Now my debts are reducing monthly on month. And that's because of the help from StepChange Reviewed on: 6th May 2026

Absolutely brilliant customer service from start to...

Absolutely brilliant customer service from start to finish, expert advice when I was so low in my financial circumstances. I Didn't see a way out but after talking to them they gave me a few options then discussed the best of those options to me. Would highly recommend if you are going through financial difficulties.
