Help in dark times

StepChange is the sort of organisation that one goes to at what is usually one of the worst times in a person's life, when it feels like your world is crashing down around you. It takes courage to approach them, but they reward that courage with compassion. They look at your circumstances objectively and non-judgementally, and tend to help you arrive at a way forward. The world is a less scary place once you are with them, and although it can take a long time, after a while you start to see a possible future that doesn't involve loss and abject poverty. I got into a debt management program with step change 6 years ago, after turning my life around from active addiction. Step Change has really helped me in continuing to pay off my debts. So much help while i struggled with my cancer.

I have cancer and recently it's been difficult with ops and no longer being able to speak. I missed my review and with the year I've had each time I had it in my head to sort it I was either ill or in hospital. They stopped bugging me when I emailed them. I'm still struggling but feel much happier now knowing they have my back and won't just say do it or leave. Reviewed on: 1st May 2024

Didn't know which way to turn ,then I turned to stepchange and they have changed my life from a dark tunnel to rays of light . Would highly recommend them to anybody. With StepChange on board you always have someone to talk to, or you can manage your plan online. They help with every step of the way, without being judgemental.
