Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

I honestly don’t know what I would have done without Step Change . I was left heavily in debt by an ex partner and thought I would lose everything. I was very stressed until I contacted Step Change and they were so helpful and put my mind at ease. I am not out of the woods yet but have a plan in place which is manageable. I have been fully supported

I have been fully supported with all questions answered within in a couple of days - having my debts all sorted in one place and Stepchange speaking to and advocating on my behalf to my creditors as brought so much peace and ease. Stepchange were/are genuine life savers, I was at my wits end when I contacted them in tears, and they were so helpful kind and patient with me and helped me sort out everything. At first when they said how long it would take to pay back my debt it felt like it would take forever, but after a few months it was like paying another bill. The yearly reviews are easy to do.
