Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

..life changing

I was in a lot of financial trouble in 2016 owing over 40k.i was having sleepless nights and didn't what to do. Stepchange was recommended by a friend. They were brilliant talked to my creditors and set up a repayment plan. I only owe about 3 k now Absolutely brilliant caring people. Reviewed on: 27th May 2026

Overall, a very positive experience with StepChange

Overall, my experience with Step change has been very positive and I would have no hesitation in recommending the service to other persons who need assistance with debt management. Aside from being a free service, I value the flexibility provided by StepChange which has enabled me to cope with challenging circumstances on several occasions. Amazing!

Everyone I have spoken to from the beginning have been amazing. I've never ended a call with an unresolved problem and the help I've received is great. I've never felt rushed to end a call and everyone has been really understanding and patient when I've has a meltdown. Reviewed on: 27th May 2026
