Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

At first i was a bit skeptical about step change, But speaking to them was the best thing for me, I went from drowning in debt and worry, To one manageable monthly payment and they worked with me and my creditors and the letters and phone calls stopped over night. I was in a cross road and confused about my debts.

I was in a cross road and confused about my debts. I was informed about this charity from an old experience a friend had. It was easy to contact them and after an initial appointment, I was accepted and I was assigned a case worker. This person helped me to set up a debt management plan free of charge.
