I tried unsuccessfully to transfer an old Isa from a...

I tried unsuccessfully to transfer an old Isa from another company into FB. Society. I spent at least half an hour waiting. And was told you don’t have tools to do it. Although I had 10 days previously sent a transfer form to you. Reviewed on: 28th May 2024

Reply from Family Building Society Dear Patricia, Like many other smaller providers, at the present time we only accept and send ISA transfers by cheque. We apply the funds to the receiving ISA from the date of the cheque they issue, and the receiving ISA provider should credit funds from the date of our cheque, so that customers don’t lose out during the transfer process. In order to join the electronic ISA transfer system, we need specific IT solutions which take time and investment, and as a smaller society we have to weigh up the costs and benefits. As part of our digital transformation program, we are reviewing the ISA transfer process to see what improvements we can make. The ‘TISA’ Database, which is an internal register for ISA transfer providers, confirms that we send and accept cheques for all our ISA transfers. We aim to answer all calls within 3 minutes, but we are extremely busy at the moment, so I’m sorry that you had to wait longer than usual for your call to be answered. However, we do have a callback facility in place which will retain your place in the queue, and an agent will call you back as soon as they become available. Windfall Bond - great interest rate

I have a substantial sum invested in the Windfall Bond. While I haven’t won yet, the interest rate is excellent and highly competitive with other products on the market. Even if I never win a prize, the interest I’ll earn is well worth having. customer service is excellent. On occasions when I haven’t been able to do something on their website, I have spoken to staff who were very helpful. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2024

Bond Renewal

I rang to check that a bond renewal had been received and was OK - as I suspected I had not dated the renewal sheet..Genevive reassusred me this was not a problem and that FBS had received my instructions and would iimplement on the due date.
