Review of the TSB, Classic Plus Account:

Opened a Classic account direct from a pop up ad when I was checking my emails.

I was impressed by the benefits in a pop up ad at the side of my emails and applied for the account the same day. The screen listed all the wonderful benefits again and I completed the form - no mention that account had to be opened after 1st March. I noticed, when checking my account today, that the £5 cash back for having more than 2 direct debits was not being paid. Phoned to check this and, after some delay, was told the benefits were only applicable to accounts opened after 1st March. When I emphasised the point about the ad appearing on my screen I was told that they didn't start running the ad until 1st March. Would like to know if anyone else saw this pop up before 1st March. Also, separate issue, I applied on line for their credit card, received acknowledgement of the application and that was that, (My credit rating is excellent by the way)When I phoned it turns out it has got lost in the system and I need to wait 30 days to reapply. Am not going to bother! Customer services are very pleasant and helpful but their system doesn't appear efficient. Reviewed on: 7th May 2017

Untrustworthy and cheats at TSB, liars

How to trust a bank that breaks their promises? The then chief executive Paul Pester had pledged that Classic Plus Accounts would have their interest rate increase from 3 to 5% on money up to £1,500, following the IT meltdown crisis but less than a year after, and the now ex chief executive gone, they broke his pledge and brought the interest rate back to 3%. It is not the £s loss, but the principle. Cheating on customers by lying. Reviewed on: 2nd August 2019

Never recommend the TSB

The TSB Bank, has given me a very poor service, blocked and caused security issues almost every time when trying to pay people either by the bankin app or online. The back office at the TSB has caused that many issues I have now decided to close my account and take my money elsewhere. TSB you area disgrace!!!! Reviewed on: 28th July 2019

In 2018 TSBs online services let me down

I`ve been a customer of TSB for over 10 years and I didn`t have a lot of issues with my current account or our joint account until last year. Since 2018 I had constant issues with the online banking and services, issues with using my debit card to make payments, poor customer services, etc. After I made a complaint through Resolver regarding a failed online payment in October 2018 TSB hasn`t even responded and I had to escalate the case to the financial ombudsman. I`m looking to switch banks now I`m simply tired of their poor internet banking and bad customer services. Reviewed on: 29th January 2019

TSB really cares

TSB really shows an interest in actively helping customers. Every year I receive a call from my local branch inviting me in to see if there are ways they can help me. I feel really valued and will never leave TSB. The staff in branch and always helpful and smiling. Reviewed on: 22nd January 2019

Staff try to help... but the system is dire!

Unable to log on, difficulties viewing statements, poor online service... the list goes on. After visiting the branch, the staff try to be helpful but seem to be unable to access their own system leaving customers frustrated and baffled. Reviewed on: 10th January 2019

Lowest amount of money needed for the highest amount of interest

TSB have an account where you can get 5% interest a month on balances upto £1500 which mean that’s on par to the amount of interest you can get with Lloyds and maybe other banks but you don’t need to have loads of money in Reviewed on: 10th December 2018
