Vanquis Bank

Draconian Shameful treatment

Ive been a Vq Customer for approximately 4 years, have been settling my monthly balance by direct debit, never erred in settling my monthly debit balance. Feb 2024 I went to Gran Canaria, used my Vq card couple times, until last attempt, it was refused, card blocked, no explanation. On return to UK, I tried card again to test, still refused, got text message to call Vq, called Vq, kept waiting for 40 minutes, call dropped as their office closed early on weekends. Tried to call twice again, always left in queue for over 30 minutes until I had to give up due to work etc. Left negative review in Trustpilot, got immediate reply from Vq customer service with number to call, called, number rings then drops. I emailed Vq customer service, they replied to advise, Vq investigation does not make outgoing calls or emails, I must call them, but how can I call them when they don't answer their calls? Vq claimed they're investigating concerns in my account, but I've not reported any fraudulent transactions, as I can monitor my Vq account via my Vq app. So I emailed Vq customer service to request them to advise Vq investigation to let me know what their concerns are and I will try to assist their investigation, still no comeback to this offer. Instead Vq blocked me from accessing my Vq app! by doing this, Vq makes it impossible for me to monitor my Vq account, most importantly, I cannot view what transactions are coming in, if they're fraudulent or not, and what my debit balance is. To protect my position, I stopped my DDM, and I immediately emailed Vq Customer service to advise them, and request Vq to provide me with hardcopy statements so that I can monitor my account as well as pay any debit balance. To date, Vq has not done so. Latest, I received hardcopy notifications that I've failed to pay my last statement debit balance, and Vq now wants to charge me £12, as late fee!. I've immediately settled the debit balance in my last statement, except the £12 late fee as I dispute that charge. It's now over 8 weeks since I logged my formal complaint, yet Vq has not finished it's investigation, so I've now logged a formal complaint with the Financial Ombudsman. Whats ironic is Vq has sent me a new Credit Card, then increased my Credit limit, and sent me a new PIN which seems to me, Vq must regard me as a reliable valued customer, when there's an outstanding investigation, over concerns which I'm not aware of! It seems Vq left hand is not aware of what Vq's right hand is doing!. To me, Vq investigating team carries on as if they're Judge, Jury and Executioner without any regards to their customer at all. I've locked away all my Vq cards, no intention of using it again, and only waiting for the investigation to complete before I close my account with this Mickey Mouse company, so sad it's a British set up.
