Easy to deal with and great rates.

I recently remortgaged late last year and HSBC were still giving the best rate around. So easy to remortgage. Very happy. Reviewed on: 9th April 2023

Flexibility within the product/easy to use app

After seeking help from a professional HSBC came out the best for my circumstances in terms of a 5 yr fixed mortgage. I like the fact the paperwork that was sent through explained in detail and also a brief summary of what the terms of the mortgage were and how much I could overpay each year. The app is easy to use and it is useful to keep track of how the mortgage payments are impacting on the amount borrowed. Reviewed on: 20th March 2023

Easy to set up, but their online system is out dated

It was a pleasure working with the people at HSBC to get our mortgage set up, making sure we were getting what was right for us. The came across as a ethical company. Their online and app set up is pretty poor thought, with it being a faff to set up and not as good as other banking apps out there. Reviewed on: 11th March 2023

Great customer service

We managed to get in before Covid hit the world on a low interest rate in 2019. The staff at HSBC in Farnham and Guildford were super helpful. From getting our Mortgage in Principal to our mortgage later on. Step by step we were told on what needed to be done, and what we needed to say on phone calls. Excellent service. So much so we will be using them next time and we didn't need to use an external mortgage adviser. Reviewed on: 22nd February 2023

Easy to switch

Cautious lending

More cautious than other banks in terms of what they would lend us but given the current climate they might be doing the right thing for their customers. Reviewed on: 8th February 2023

Gets less and less of a personal service as years go by

When I first obtained a mortgage with HSBC about 25 years ago, I had a very nice lady in my local branch who stayed in touch each year making sure I was happy with the service - it was really good. But, as times have got harder and I've missed a payment here and here over the years, the bank has become the same as all the others - no personal service, everything automated and you have to explain yourself over and over and over again each time you contact the bank,. All banks are the same these days frankly. If a friendly personal approach worked 25 years ago why doesn't it now? Reviewed on: 3rd February 2023
