I've been saving with Pennine / Northern for years

I've been saving with Pennine / Northern since the Credit Union was originally set up in West Cumbria - it is just the right thing to do both socially and morally. I have no personal requirement to loan money, and are more than happy that my savings are used to help those that do need access to borrow funds. When I retired recently it was a no brainer as to where to invest my tax free lump sum and I'm now getting a fantastic 4.5% rate on my savings. Well done Northern, keep up the good work. I have a couple of different savings accounts, but the Christmas Savings account has been a life saver! I pay some money in every month knowing I can't touch it, and then in November when I come to do my Christmas shopping I have a good pot of money to spend. Amazing and personal customer service

I wasn't sure how the product worked and the process. I sent a number of emails and they responded within the hour and they responses were helpful and friendly. At teh end of the process if sending money over a number of days they called me up to confirm exactly what they were doing and that I was okay with everything. Fantastic service

I have never had any problems with them, they offer a fantastic and easy way to save money. Staff are really helpful, polite and patient. This is the only way possible for me to be able to save money so this is very helpful to me and my family. Reviewed on: 30th August 2025
