Cannot be trusted with your money

My mum rang them to close her savings account, and have her money transferred to another bank - "Sorry, we can't transfer that much in one go, you'll have to keep ringing us up or go into a branch" (local branch closed 2 years ago). Went into another branch - "You'll have to join a queue and wait, it'll be 1.5 - 2 hours. No you can't make an appointment, we don't do that sort of thing by appointment." Went back to plan A, mum called to transfer money £15k at a time over several days. 1st call 15 mins to get through to a human, call was conveniently cut off just at the point of transferring money. 2nd call 25 mins to get through, operative had no knowledge or record of 1st call, she had to explain everything over again. Payment finally made, but she now faces several more calls exactly the same to get the rest of HER OWN money. Surely the financial regulations of this country do not allow this level of obstruction? I felt very tempted to call the police and report Barclays as scammers. Reviewed on: 15th February 2023

Reliable Barclays

I’ve got 2 accounts with Barclays and have done for the last 14 years. I’ve never had a problem with them. Their service has always been second to none. I find the app great, I can check my balances, pay or move money so quickly with out any hassle. I like Barclays, you can rely on them for great customer service too. Reviewed on: 16th February 2022

Friendly, genuine banking

I’ve chosen Barclays because their service has been outstanding. If I’ve ever had a problem they have solved it quickly and efficiently. The fraud team were quick to notice transactions on my account which were odd and notified me immediately and put in measures to recoup my lost funds and protect me from further losses.
