Easy to open an account

I was a UK resident but not citizen recently arrived in the UK. I went to several banks to open an account but found them uninterested and unhelpful, except Barclays. Several years later I am still with them. Reviewed on: 15th February 2016

Simple to use and keeps me on track

I struggled with money for a few years and get into quite a lot of debt. It came a time last year when I wanted to transform my finances and make life liveable again. This is when i switched to Barclays and I haven't looked back. I've kept on track with my rent and bills every since. They don't push products on me like overdrafts and they have helpful charts to see where i'm spending too much. Reviewed on: 16th January 2018

Great digital banking, but charges can be high

I've banked with Barclays for many years and can safely say I'm glad I've now switched banks. I had a current account with an overdraft and the charges that I've incurred in the last 4 years have been crazy. In my opinion, you are ok if you don't borrow with them. Used to be better...

As a bank Barclays used to be amazing with customer service however as recent I have experienced somewhat questionable service with far too many 'computer glitches' for a bank. I have had both standing orders and direct debits been changed and fail with nothing to do with me. Their refusal to support Android Pay is just annoying, their service and app on Android is a sham compared with iOS. I'm disappointed Barclays has gone downhill so much..
