Easy to open an account

I was a UK resident but not citizen recently arrived in the UK. I went to several banks to open an account but found them uninterested and unhelpful, except Barclays. Several years later I am still with them. Reviewed on: 15th February 2016

Fully embraced on-line and Barclay's App

I find my on-line account easy to use and convenient. If I have any problems I can message Barclay's via my account and I will receive a helpful reply within a day. Similarly my Barclay's phone app is easy to use and convenient on the go. And if I have time to visit a branch they always so helpful. Reviewed on: 19th November 2017

Paying in is now an inconvenience

I used to regularly pay in cheques and cash into the quick drop box in the local bracnh. I would keep a stash of the paying-in envelopes at home, fill them in before I went and drop them in on the way to catch my train to work. Since 'improving' the branch, they have removed the drop-box, taken away threeog the staffed counters, leaving just two and added two machines. One or both of the machines are usually broken, and when they are working it now takes several minutes to make a payment and involves putting in your card, typing in details of the payment and various other details. I now have to make a special trip to the bank as there are long queues and eveything takes so long. Reviewed on: 16th November 2017

Bring back bank clerks

There is now always a long lineof customers in the bank because there are no bank counters with clerks - everything now is automated and is not giving us the customer care we are used to or expect. Might change to a smaller bank with more personal service. Reviewed on: 15th November 2017

Safe and reliable

Ive had my same account since i was 15. Never had any issues all my problems and questions have been delt with quick and easy! Couldnt recomend this bank enough when ever someone has said a negitive comment i have changed there minds. Reviewed on: 14th November 2017

Not Great

The online banking and App are great and would get 5 stars, but the Banking experience when you actually have to phone is so poor I wouldn't recommend. Reviewed on: 14th November 2017

Staff in branches are usually friendly and helpful; their smartphone app is very useful to keep on top of your bank balances and payments on the go! Reviewed on: 14th November 2017

I've been a loyal Barclays customer for many years. It's now been 4 times I've rung up about getting a statement that never arrived. So I think the time has come to change my bank. Reviewed on: 13th November 2017
