An avalanche of paper

Product reaching maturity so received 3 unnumbered printed pages in an envelope telling me what my options are but before I processed that an envelope arrived with another 11 pages, 3 of which were a copy of the orginal 3 (another tree!). Having spent 20 minutes sorting it out it appears that the second letter, in addition to the duplicates, contained details about Loyalty Bond (Issue 3) which was an option in the first letter and about Loyalty Bond (Issue 4 ) which wasn't - no mention of Loyalty Bond (Issue 2) which was. Despite your efforts I think, having found the instructions buried in one the letters, I have managed to notify BBS of my preference. Reviewed on: 2nd October 2023

We do have a legal obligation to provide some of this paperwork but that doesn't mean that we cannot explain your options more simply and clearly. When it comes to the trees, we will email you this type of information where we can. We also have plans to introduce a maturity process within our Mobile App and Bath Online portal that is simple and completely paper free. We hope this new service will be made live early next year. New log on Link

I had an email with a link to set up a log on account. All was going well with mobile phone and then email verification until I tried to set up a PIN number and could get no further. I tried a few hours later and had the message "this link has already been used" Reviewed on: 27th September 2023

OTP for log in

Hopeless. Took 54 minutes to receive OTP for log in. By then I had given up. Reviewed on: 27th September 2023

It should be received within a matter of seconds. Would you be kind enough to contact us and provide us with more information so that we can try and identify the root cause of this issue and fix it? Absolute nightmare trying to re register

What was wrong with simply moving pre registered details across, re registry has been extremely difficult, i expect i will have to physically call into branch to sort this out. Reviewed on: 27th September 2023

If not, you don't need to visit our branches, you can call us or use our webchat. We did investigate moving all of our customers in bulk from our old system to our new one but it was simply not possible. We have instead tried to create a simple one off registration process which will facilitate future log ins to be done both securely and simply. Please accept my apologies if we have failed in doing so. If you still struggle with Bath Online it might be worth you exploring our Mobile App. Once registered for this, logging on can be as simple as using your thumb print. Hopeless re setting new ID for online

I carefully chose a PIN according to instructions. six digits, no sequence of numbers ascending or descending - yet still it would not accept...and no help page - but for the fact I have a 60-day account with a fair sum in, I wouldn't deal with Bath again. This is the first time we have seen an issue of the type that you are describing. It would be really helpful if you could contact us and provide more details so that we can try and replicate and then fix the issue that you are experiencing. New Online portal

Before launching a new portal which no-one asked for - ensure it works for all different accounts and your website can cope. Reviewed on: 26th September 2023

Reply from Bath Building Society Thank you for your feedback. We have invested in this new portal because of lots of feedback that we needed to do so. There are a small number of accounts that cannot yet register for the new version of Bath Online but these are in the final stages of testing and we expect that they will then be made live within a matter of days/weeks and certainly by no later than the end of October. The new portal already has more functionality than the old one and we are planning on delivering new features over the next few months. Great customer service

The online chat is really good. The communication upon opening an account could be better. Information was split, emails didn't arrive and the overall process was quite slow. However, it wasn't complicated or hard. Reviewed on: 25th September 2023
